Mentality Madness

I just don’t get the mentality that if its made a movie, then its a good book. It never ceases to amaze me to see people flocking to buy books that were supposedly cool and will make them intellectuals due to the virtues of their superior literary choice. Nobody gave a damn about Lord of the Rings until the movies were released, and now people are strutting about, content on being walking encyclopedias of Tolkien’s works, while the hardcore Tolkien followers quietly smirk in the corner. These days,  it’s Dan Brown’s works that get all the unwarranted attention.

Jesus (no pun intended), his books are way ancient but nobody gave a damn back then. Now we get lots of protests in front of cinemas, and bookstores are up to their  necks in keeping up with the buyers who are grumbling why they have to make a reservation to buy a book. The Da Vinci Code anybody? Come on, I even posted my first blog post a year ago about the book and nobody gave a damn. Now every time I turn the TV on, it’s always  about  The Da Vinci Code this and The Da Vinci Code that. Haters, lovers, conspirators, fanatics – whew, it makes me sick.
